This phase of work has now been completed. Please visit the Visionary Framework page for more information on the next stage of the project

Following the consultation and technical work that was undertaken during summer 2007, the masterplanners, along with the rest of the Project Team, has considered the results and produced five initial masterplan concepts.  Each concept shows how a range of different land uses including employment, mixed use, education, open space, housing and aviation could feature within the development of Daedalus.  Click on each of the below to see each concept:

Concept A

Concept B

Concept C

Concept D

Concept E

The aim of this stage of the development process is for the Project Team to gain an understanding of what the various stakeholders, which include the community, the local councils and businesses, feel about the possible mix of uses.

These concepts were shown at the Daedalus Exhibition on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 December 2007 at the Lee Methodist Church Hall, Lee-on-the-Solent High Street.  For those unable to attend the exhibition, a summary of the exhibition panels were on display at Lee-on-the-Solent library, Stubbington library, Fareham library and Gosport Discovery Centre from Tuesday 11 December until mid January 2008.

The fixe concepts have now been superseded by the masterplan proposals, please email any comments you have in relation to the masterplan proposals to daedalus-project@seeda.co.uk as SEEDA wants to hear your thoughts and views about them.  All the comments that Groundwork Solent receives will be collated and used to help inform the Project Team for the future development at Daedalus.

Next Steps

Following consultation with all the relevant stakeholders which includes the local community, local councils and businesses, the masterplan concepts are likely to evolve further and a favoured approach to the development of the site will begin to emerge.  All parties will be consulted again before a final masterplan is agreed and taken forward to the next stage of the development process.  Details of this will be published on the website in due course.
