This is your home, your neighbourhood and your community. You live and work on and around the site and know the area better than anyone else. You know its challenges, its potential, its history and most importantly its place within the community. We want to tap into this knowledge and information to help make the right decisions for the site’s future development to ensure it brings the greatest economic, social and environmental benefits to the area. We need your help!
Firstly Groundwork Solent would like to introduce itself as the Daedalus Community Consultant appointed by SEEDA:
Who is Groundwork Solent?
Groundwork Solent is an environmental charity, working in partnership with public, private and voluntary organisations to improve the quality of life for people living across south Hampshire. Click here visit the website.
Its projects benefit:

It has a skilled and experienced team which has extensive knowledge in community consultation and engagement that will be helping to deliver the consultation strategy for the Daedalus site.
Community Involvement
The Groundwork Solent Team will be your first point of contact as the Project evolves to input your ideas, thoughts, concerns and desires for the plans for the site. The Team will help you to feed your comments and ideas to the Masterplanners and the wider Daedalus Project Team and ensure they are all fairly considered.
The masterplan will be looking at the needs and aspirations of the surrounding communities including key areas such as employment, transport, heritage and leisure. Community involvement in this masterplan will be ensured by regular consultation activities and events with residents, community groups, schools and businesses.
As well as holding traditional consultation events, the Project Team also recognise the potential that this website can bring to act as a resource for the community. Not only can this website be one access point for updates on information and events on the site but can also be a tool for community members to post in comments and queries.
Click here to read the Community Consultation Strategy for the Daedalus Project and find out how the Project Team propose to ensure there is an opportunity for all who live and work in the communities surrounding the site to have your input.
